5 AWESOME TIPI WEDDING VENUES IN THE MIDLANDS
Are you looking for that festival feel for your wedding day? Then a Tipi wedding venue could just be the right choice for your wedding celebrations. The rustic charm of wedding tipis really helps to create an atmosphere that is both romantic and inviting. By the nature of what the structure is, tipis & Yurts are almost always set in beautiful outdoor locations surrounded by fields, Forests or beautiful gardens, making them the perfect choice for couples that love the great outdoors and want to make the most of a natural setting.
If you’re the kind of couple that wants a relaxed and informal atmosphere for your wedding day, I think Tipi/Yurt venue fits that vibe perfectly. I feel Barn wedding venues can also offer a similar kind of feel however, Tipi venues really take that bohemian or rustic feel to the next level. I’m grouping Yurts & Tipi venues together here as I feel they both offer the same feel and vibe and as a Midlands Wedding Photographer, I have some awesome Tipi / Yurt Wedding venues around me that I have had the pleasure to shoot at. Here are 6 Awesome Tipi Wedding Venues in The Midlands for you to consider for your wedding venue.
1. WHATTON HOUSE & GARDENS
I photographed a Whatton House wedding last year and was blown away by the beautiful location that surrounds the Tipis. Situated amongst the arboretum of Whatton House, it consists of epic gardens that burst with colour, large well kept lawns, trees galore & hidden spots that make it a visual delight.
Whatton House can be found in the countryside of Leicestershire within the afore mentioned gardens you will find a huge Tipi that plays host to your wedding breakfast and evening party. It can seat approx 150 guests and is the perfect spot to dance the night away.
If you choose to get married at Whatton House there is the beautiful Bark House. This beautiful rustic wooden arch is right in the heart of the gardens and whilst you stand saying your “I Do’s” your guest are behind in a small Tipi watching on. It’s such a cool space that is covered, yet feels like your still outside.
It’s pretty hard to describe just how beautiful the setting is at Whatton House so check out a real Whatton House Wedding to get a flavour. I’m very much looking forward to getting back there later this year. – See Website
2. HADSHAM FARM WEDDING VENUE
Talk about a picturesque setting for a wedding. Hadsham Farm ticks every visual tick box going. From the stunning huge Tipi that overlooks the stunning lake, to the hay bails that surround the outdoor ceremony space, this wedding venue is stunning. Hadsham Farm is located in the Cotswold valley in north Oxfordshire and sits within the countryside of Banbury.
Hadsham Farm has a huge permanent Tipi that is suitable for 100-150 seated guests and is open for weddings between the months of April and October.
You can choose to utilise the onsite Shepards hut for morning preparations or arrive at the venue ready for your outdoor ceremony that overlooks the lake. Once you have sealed the deal you and your guests descend to the decking outside of the Tipi to drink and mingle with the views around you. The large Tipi is where the wedding breakfast is served and the evening party also takes place inside the Tipi.
There’s onsite accommodation for the happy couple in the luxury Shepards Hut and for the guests, the option to spend the night in the glamping bell tents. – See Website

Located in the Solihull, Newlands Bishop Farm is a unique Tipi wedding venue that really encapsulates that festival feel. You get the venue from Friday to Sunday allowing for ample set up time and you can even come back and have a post-wedding BBQ on the Sunday with your closest family and friends.
Newlands Bishop farm is actually a working farm during the week and is part of the Family Care Trust charity that helps adults with learning disabilities. Such a cool place
Newland Bishop Farm offers a couple of spots for you to have an outdoor civil ceremony either in the woods next to the venue or on the lawns by the Tipi. 5. THORPE GARDEN WEDDING VENUE
Thorpe Gardens is part of the Cripps group of wedding venues and I must say, the Cripps team really do know how to run a venue. I’ve photographed weddings at their Shustoke Barn venue, Grangefields, Stone Barn and here at Thorpe Gardens and I’ve always had a great day. Thorpe Gardens can be found in the Staffordshire countryside.
The venue consists of a massive Yurt and a barn that are surrounded by a walled garden of colourful plants and tendered lawns. Outside of that are fields that overlook the stunning Midlands countryside.
There are three spaces you could choose to have your civil ceremony at Thorpe Gardens, the large Tipi, the modern barn or even outside on the lawns. The gardens and courtyard are the perfect backdrops to an afternoon of fun with your guests before the Tipi takes centre stage for the wedding breakfast (the barn can be used for smaller weddings) and the evening party.
There are fire pits in the evenings and festoon lights give the venue a golden glow at night. I highly recommend checking out this stunning Yurt venue – See Website
