Grangefields Wedding Photographer

Getting to be Kathryn & George’s Grangefields Wedding Photographer was special for a couple of reasons. The first was that this couple was so much fun to photograph and the laughs kept coming all day, the second was that Grangefields Wedding Venue had only just opened its doors to weddings, and getting to see this place after hearing so much about it, was brilliant.

Being part of the Cripps Group of wedding venues, I knew Grangefields would be a really well ran venue and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve photographed at many of their venues such as Shustoke Farm Barns, Stone Barn & Thorpe Garden and they always end up being fantastic wedding days. George & Katheryn’s big day was no exception and from my first moments hanging with the girls in the morning, through to the evening party, these guys and their guests had an absolute blast.

Big thanks go to Rebecca Timms for the second shooting for me, Hannah Lane for the awesome floristry, Amie from Mon Amie hair for her awesome hairstyling work, and Lauren Victoria for her brilliant makeup skills. The biggest thanks go to Katherine & George for picking me to be their Grangefields Wedding Photographer.

Grangefields Wedding Venue

Being a new venue on the block from an established company, there’s been a lot of talk about the Grangefield wedding venue. This midlands wedding barn is found in Derbyshire on the historic Trusley estate. The wedding barn holds a max of 150 people with the dining barn offering space for 175 people. There’s space for outdoor ceremonies also. The barn surrounds a lovely courtyard that plays host to your afternoon drinks and all around the venue are fields for you to explore. Like the other Cripps barns I’ve photographed at, it’s extremely picturesque. If you’re looking for a wedding that balances rustic with modern, this should be on your list to see.

Wedding Photography at Grangefields

Weddings barns can often be very dimly lit with couples stuck in the darkest part of the barn facing a wall. At Grangefields they are perfectly lit by a large window making it one of the nicest barns I’ve photographed in. The outside courtyard is the perfect setting for capturing all those natural candid moments as guests enjoy themselves and the wedding breakfast room is bathed in light by a wall of glass. As for places to do some awesome couples portraits, the surrounding fields and greenery make for the perfect backdrop. Whether on purpose or by accident, Cripps has created a venue that works for us photographers from ceremony to dance floor.

Are you looking for a Grangefields Wedding Photographer

If you’re looking for a Midlands-based wedding photographer to capture your Grangefields wedding day, drop me a message and let’s chat about your big day.

Here are a few nice words from Katheryn & George about picking me to capture their Grangefields Wedding day – “The whole experience has been so stress-free. It was really important to both of us that our wedding day and the planning were as relaxed as possible. We didn’t wanna start married life with any angst or stress. Jonathan made that possible and was great fun in the morning and in the lead-up to it. It was a pleasure to have him as a guest. Everyone loves the photos and he captured some beautiful moments.”
