Weddings are an emotional affair, there’s always a few happy tears shed by someone on the day and that’s a beautiful thing to capture. Lexi, Chris and their nearest and dearest took their emotions to the next level and tears of joy were pretty much a staple throughout the day. Getting to be their Haybarn wedding photographer in Shropshire earlier this year was amazing.

The whole day was based around the beautiful grounds of The Haybarn Wedding Venue.  Shropshire is a beautiful part of the country and I’ve strangely shot a lot of weddings that way this year. The day started in the cottage with the girls donning their dresses and doing all their own hair and makeup. The boys got their glad rags and military blues on in their own special Yurt, however, the tradition of the bride and groom not seeing each other before the ceremony was out the window as Chris & Lexi exchanged smiles and kisses throughout the morning. It was so relaxed and chilled.

Their ceremony was outside under the shade of a massive tree and it looked beautiful. One of Chris & Lexi’s best friends officiated the ceremony which just added heightened the emotion levels of the ceremony.

The rest of the afternoon was spent drinking in the sun, playing garden games and having a wonderful day. Pizzas filled everyone up and the speeches broke everyone down in tears again. Seriously, I was even close to tearing up at one point. The evening party took place in the rustic boho style tipi and the dance floor stayed full from the start until the end. The band smashed it, the guests danced like their lives depended on it and we even got more tears of joy when the whole dance floor stopped and sang some classic tunes acapella style.

The Haybarns in Shropshire was the perfect setting for Chris & Lexi’s wedding day. If they were going for a sun-soaked festival-esque, boho tinged chilled wedding day with a night of craziness, they nailed it. Thank you so much to Chris & Lexi for letting me be their Haybarns Wedding Photographer and for letting me be part of the posse for the day. I knew from when we did a pre-wedding shoot together that these guys would be fun to hang with and they didn’t disappoint on their wedding day. LEGENDS
