Polly & Angus

Polly & Angus’s home garden country house wedding was honestly one of my favourite days from last year. Being their Northamptonshire wedding photographer was such a joy. There’s something really special about getting married at your childhood home surrounded by all your favourite people in a place that already holds so many good memories.

Their home sits in a beautiful little village in the Northamptonshire countryside, and the day started with the girls getting ready in Polly’s childhood bedroom. It was such a relaxed morning, full of excitement and laughter about everything that was about to happen. While the girls were getting ready, the house, gardens and marquee were slowly being transformed with the most incredible flowers. At one point I popped out to meet the boys at a local pub where they were enjoying a quick pre-wedding drink before heading back to catch Polly getting into her dress.

The ceremony took place at the church just behind the garden, and watching Polly make the short walk from the house through the church grounds with the biggest smile on her face just added to the excitement of it all. It’s a proper cosy village church and it was completely packed with their favourite people.

After a lovely ceremony, everyone headed outside for confetti before walking back along the village road to the house for drinks on the lawn. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Guests were chatting and mingling while Polly and Angus made their rounds saying hello to everyone. Their garden looked incredible, with flowers that had been carefully timed to bloom for the wedding, so we used the space for some group photos and a few relaxed portraits before everyone headed into the marquee for food.

Once everyone had eaten some seriously good food, the speeches were smashed, the cake was cut, and the dance floor absolutely went off. It was one of those dance floors that was so full I had to fight my way through just to get photos and honestly I didn’t want to leave it because it just kept getting better.
