Festival vibes, woodland magic, and all-round good times, that’s exactly exactly the vibes I got when I got to be Emily & Matthew’s Sherwood Glade wedding photographer. I’ve said it before, but festival style weddings and outdoor ceremonies really are my happy place and this one had it all.
Aside from the bridal prep at a local Air BnB, the whole celebration took place at the gorgeous Sherwood Glade wedding venue in Nottinghamshire. All of Emily & Matt’s favourite people gathered in the enchanted woodland forest to witness a beautiful and personal humanist ceremony (another big tick from me). From there, everyone soaked up the sunshine, enjoyed each other’s company, and eased into those feel-good party vibes.
After delicious Italian food and some seriously emotional speeches, the sun dipped behind the large tipi and the grounds transformed into the perfect backdrop for a night of live music and an absolutely buzzing dance floor. Sherwood Glade is a beautifully tucked-away woodland wedding venue in the heart of Nottinghamshire, surrounded by 25 acres of peaceful private forest. With its cosy, rustic tipis set in a quiet clearing, the whole place has a dreamy, fairytale feel that lets you shape your day exactly the way you want it. It’s lovingly run as a family business and you get exclusive use of the venue on the day. The surrounding woodland is full of towering oaks trees, pathways has a truly fairytale feel to it.
Wedding Photography At Sherwood Glade
Sherwood Glade is one of those places that instantly feels inspiring the moment you step behind the camera. The Tipi sits right at the heart of the forest, and everywhere you look there’s something beautiful to work with like the rich natural colours, soft filtered light, and winding pathways that seem to lead to new little pockets of magic. Shooting a ceremony at the Glade is especially special, the natural clearing frames the couple perfectly. Most of the day unfolds around the Tipi, where the open clearing is wrapped in towering trees that create a stunning backdrop from every angle for those natural candid moments. It goes without saying, for all the reasons above, there are no shortage of spaces to create some epic portraits too. As a photographer, it’s the kind of venue that makes your job feel effortless, and honestly, it was a real joy to spend the day capturing it.
