Fashion/Editorial – My early years

Before I ever dreamt of photographing a wedding, I tried my hand at some kind of fashion/editorial style of photography. Truth be told, I never really knew exactly what I was doing and thus never went anywhere with them. In the real world, editorial photographers usually have professional models, a team of hair stylists, fashion stylists, make up artists & assistants for every photoshoot….I had me, sometimes my wife on hand and most of the time models that hadn’t modelled before. Clothes were either bought from charity shops or were the models own garments. Despite this, I really felt that It was a great way to start my photography journey and many of the things I learnt back then I do today as a wedding photography. Many of the models I used have now become good friends and Ive even Photographed one’s wedding & another one’s baby bump (and then the baby). It’s a time I look back on with fondness and often get the urge to do some more for fun, especially with the skills Ive gained from being a wedding photographer.

So, here’s a few images from that time. Again, these wont set the pages of Vogue on fire however, I’m proud of what I achieved at the time.
