Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Photographer

Wedding Photography at Swallows Nest Barn

I’m a big fan of rustic wedding barns. It’s that relaxed feeling and autumnal colours that come naturally with a barn wedding that really get me. Swallows Nest Barn is no exception and one of my favourite wedding barns in the Midlands. I’ve been a Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Photographer for a number of weddings now and each time I visit this venue,  I’m never disappointed with what the venue has to offer. This is my page about Swallows Nest and if you want to know more about me and what I can bring to your wedding day, contact me now and let’s chat.

About Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Venue

You’ll find Swallows Nest Barn set in the glorious Warwickshire countryside quite close to the border of the Cotswolds. From any direction you look, the views are stunning. This makes my job as a wedding photographer that little bit easier as every direction offers a great backdrop for the pictures. Surrounding the barn are farmers fields filled with various crops and even a wooded area just up the driveway. The main wedding barn is a 19th-century rustic brick building that can host 120 guests. The same barn will also play host to your wedding breakfast and evening food. Adjoining the old barn is the extension barn that allows for 150 people to party the night away. Trust me, I’ve seen some epic parties in that room. Outside of the main buildings is a beautiful courtyard with a grass area that allows for your guests to mingle and drink the afternoon away.

Being a Wedding Photographer at Swallows Nest Barn

I mentioned above that in every direction the views at Swallows nest barns are fantastic and that is no lie. For those couples willing to explore the grounds the venue has to offer, you will find colour long grasses, fields of crops, trees, flowers in bloom, woodland areas and big open spaces where the sun sets over the fields. It’s a photographer’s dream really.

The courtyard is perfect for those summer days capturing candid moments of guests enjoying the day and even if the worst happens and it’s a wet day, there’s plenty of space in the newer barn for me to capture your guests mingling. With one side of that barn being a glass wall, the light is great. The main wedding barn has two massive glass windows that fill the old red brick barn with light too so your ceremony won’t be dark like some barn venues are.

All in all, being a Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Photographer is a joy. The staff at the venue have always welcomed me in and never stopped me from doing what I need to do to get the best images possible.

Why Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Venue?

Lucy & Dan’s wedding day was such a fun day to photograph. On top of them being just fantastic people, their wedding was so relaxed and it was clear all their wedding guests loved it. Here’s what Lucy had to say about Swallows Nest Barn

They say ‘when you know, you know about your future husband, don’t they? Well, for my husband and me that’s how we felt about Swallows Nest Barn from the moment we drove along the sweeping drive, stepped out of the car and took one look at the duck egg blue door that leads you through to the most stunning courtyard, set against the breathtakingly beautiful backdrop of the Warwickshire countryside.

Swallows Nest was in fact the only venue we looked at because we didn’t see the point in wasting time looking at others when we knew we had found The One. It had absolutely everything we thought we wanted, and more; the spectacular barn setting with all the traditional features you could hope to see in an old rustic barn, mixed with contemporary elements that brought an indoor/outdoor feel to the courtyard which, for our June wedding (that at times had some questionable weather moments) was a perfect balance. While it is a large enough venue to cater for bigger parties than ours was, its courtyard setting made it intimate enough that it never felt as though any of our guests were too far away and once dusk fell, the twinkling lights outside made it truly feel like a magical place.

There are so many beautiful photo opportunities within and around the buildings, we were spoilt for choice. I’m glad I had more than one pair of bridal shoes because we did some walking on the day! It was so worthwhile though because the results were the most captivating photographs I have ever seen.
