Blakelands Country House Wedding Photographer
It’s so lovely to be back shooting weddings again after such a long break due to Covid. As restrictions were lifted I got to be Heidi & Tom’s Blakelands Country House Wedding Photographer earlier this summer and what a great day it was.
I spent my whole day at Blakelands Country House starting in the morning capturing the ladies getting wedding ready in the lovely prep attic with the help of Hayley at Obsessed doing the hair & Emily Grosvenor smashing the makeup duties. I then nipped next door to the lads donning their suits and fitting in a game of cards, before we all met for a stunning outdoor ceremony in the walled gardens. Those that have read more of my blogs will know I’m a sucker for ceremonies outside and the stunning gardens of Blakelands Country House really came alive with the awesome floristry skills provided by Clare’s Weddings. The afternoon was super relaxed with drinks and nibbles in the courtyard before their sit-down meal and speeches. The day ended like weddings should… with a proper busy dance floor, thanks to the talents of Blue Diamond Entertainments. Heidi & Tom really were a lovely couple to photograph and getting to photograph their Blakelands house wedding was a joy.
Blakelands Country House Wedding Venue
Blakelands Country House is set in the South Staffordshire Countryside and really offers you the full package. Everything is onsite for your wedding day allowing you to start and end your celebrations all in the same venue if that’s what you are after. The building dates back to 1722 and oozes character and its surroundings are breathtaking with its walled gardens, paddocks, rustic barns, orchards and even a lake. Ceremonies can be held inside or outside and there is onsite accommodation which really does allow you to have the exact wedding you want.
Wedding Photography at Blakelands Country House
A wedding venue like Blakelands really does spoil us wedding photographers. On dry days the outdoor walled garden ceremony space makes for wonderful photos bursting with colour and the courtyard is the perfect space to capture those candid moments of guests enjoying the day. For the couples portraits the orchard, lake, long grasses and gardens will keep you super busy. If the weather doesn’t play ball, the barns and house offer everything you would need to keep the wedding moving and the pictures won’t suffer one bit. I loved every part of this venue and still feel like there is loads to explore with my cameras next time.
Why Pick Blakelands Country house as your wedding venue?
I asked Heidi & Tom why they chose Blakelands country House for their wedding day and this is what they had to say
“The grounds, the fishing ponds and gardens, the Maltings barn, the courtyard, the house and the staff were all deciding factors on our venue. We also loved how a lot was provided within their wedding package, chair sashes, centrepieces, post box for cards which took a lot of work away from us having to think about little things.
We wanted a picturesque location for our wedding day and that is what we received. 1000% recommend Blakelands to anyone wanted to get married. Our guests and vendors were all complimenting the venue throughout the day.”
