It’s always a treat to shoot at a venue I’ve not shot at before, but when I got to be Anya & Ifan’s Wildhive Callow Hall Wedding Photographer I was blown away by how stunning this place was. Couple that with an awesome bride & groom and you have the recipe for a fantastic wedding.

I arrived at Callow Hall and found Team Anya in the bridal prep suite, tucked just down the drive from the main venue. After capturing some shots of the makeup and hair in action, the videographer and I were whisked away on a golf cart, weaving up the winding hills to a treehouse where Ifan and his crew—dog included—were getting ready. The morning wrapped up back with Anya as she slipped into her dress, and then it was time to make our way up to the Country House for the ceremony. A heartfelt set of “I do’s” later, and everyone spilled out into Callow Hall’s stunning gardens, drinks in hand, soaking up the sun and the easy chatter of the afternoon.

After a couple of hours and plenty of good vibes, we moved inside to the Garden Room restaurant for speeches and the wedding breakfast before stepping back out to make the most of the lingering summer light. Once again, the golf carts were fired up with Anya & Ifan in tow for a golden-hour photoshoot in the woods and open fields. As night fell, the ceilidh band took over, and as always, they delivered—because nothing gets a dance floor moving quite like a ceilidh.

Callow Hall is the kind of venue that keeps on giving when it comes to photography. With the weather on your side, you and your guests will spend a lot of the day outside with the stunning Victorianhouse, meadows, wooden area or beautiful colourful gardens acting as the backdrop to your day. As for portraits, the same locations would be good enough for anyone but the fact you can go up in the woods among the tree houses is a real bonus. Inside, the beautiful interiors have you in safe hands too. I would love to go back to Callow Hall as I feel there is so much I didn’t get to see. In short, it’s a photographer’s playground.
