The Barn At Upcote Wedding Photographer
Carmel and Mike asked me to be their wedding photographer for their celebration at ‘The Barn At Upcote’, and they chose my hybrid package which meant I also had the joy of creating a highlight film for them alongside the photos. It was my first time shooting at this stunning Cotswolds venue, and what a day it turned out to be.
The whole celebration unfolded onsite at The Barn At Upcote, beginning with a calm and chilled morning as Carmel and her bridal squad got ready in the Hay Barn suite. When it was time, we made the short walk to the main barn where Mike and all their favourite people were waiting. After a lovely ceremony, everyone headed outside for confetti, drinks and plenty of smiles. Meanwhile, the team at The Barn worked their magic and transformed the main barn into the wedding breakfast space where guests enjoyed incredible food and heartfelt speeches. A little later, after more drinks and a wander around the beautiful grounds with the couple, the dance floor came alive and the evening truly kicked off.

These ladies clearly love what they do, and together we did everything we could to make the couples day unforgettable.

There is something about wedding venues in the Cotswolds that always makes me want to return. This beautiful part of the country has a way of offering spaces that simply feel right. The Barn at Upcote is no exception and from a wedding photographers point of view it is an incredible backdrop for your photos. Barn venues can sometimes feel a little dark, but this one has windows in all the right places and a style that really lifts the whole space. There are plenty of indoor areas if the weather changes, but on a dry day the courtyard is perfect for capturing those candid moments as the day unfolds. The venue sits right in the heart of the countryside, so it almost goes without saying that there are plenty of lovely spots for portraits as well.
