When Charlie & Andrew asked me to be their wedding photographer I let out a little squeak of excitement for two reasons. One, they sounded like a fun couple that I knew I would get along with & two, I got to travel to the beautiful Peak District to capture their special day at Cressbrook Hall. Once I got back in my car at the end of the wedding day, both reasons delivered as expected. Charlie & Andrew were in fact super cool and a joy to be around (as were their family & friends) and being a Peak District wedding photographer for the day, with all the stunning views , was as beautiful as I imagined. I really hope I get to head back to photograph another wedding at Cressbrook Hall soon and hopefully at other Peak District beauty spots too.
I travelled up to the wedding the day before and met up with Charlie to do a little recce of both the venue and the surrounding countryside. Being lovers of walks in the Peaks and simply wanting those views in the images, Charlie & Andrew wanted to do a portrait run on their wedding day outside the grounds of the venue and in the beautiful Peak District hills. Once we found a few locations, I left Charlie and headed back to my hotel for a relaxing sleep without the fear of my children jumping on me at silly o’clock in the morning 🙂
The following morning I was moving between Charlie’s & Andrew’s cottages as they were opposite each other and managed to capture both their stories. Charlie & the girls laughed so much that it became almost impossible to get a picture without one of their beaming smiles in it. Andrew decided on a spot of football & playing on the swings (as you do) for his wedding morning as well as relaxing with his nearest & dearest.
Once Charlie was transformed into bride mode by the awesome Jenn Edwards & the dress was on, it was time to take the short but picturesque walk from the cottages to the main part of Cressbrook Hall. Once there, Andrew was waiting and the two of them tied the knot in an lovely outside ceremony on a beautiful spring day.
The day went by without a single hitch and was perfect. The three of us got to spend some time in the heart of the Peak District doing a short portrait run and then headed back to the venue for speeches & finally party time. It really was fantastic and a massive thank you to Charlie & Andrew for picking me to be your Cressbrook Hall wedding photographer & to your family & friends for being awesome company.
If you’re looking for a Peak District wedding photographer, getting married at Cressbrook Hall or anywhere in the UK, let’s have a chat and hopefully capture some beautiful images together.
