I couldn’t help but feel honoured the day that Donna & Chris picked me to be their wedding photographer. Donna has a wedding planning business and obviously knew a few photographers, so to have her choose me was pretty special. I had gotten to know both of these guys ahead of their Combermere Abbey wedding by way of a pre wedding engagement shoot. I loved spending time with them on that day and their wedding day was no different, talk about genuinely lovely folk 🙂
As the wedding approached it started to feel more and more like I was going to be shooting a friends wedding and I’m happy to say that’s exactly what it was by the end of the night. I loved every second of their magic day and if I could have squeezed in to their suitcase, I would have cropped up like a third wheel on their honeymoon 🙂
I was invited to join Chris, Donna & their family for a BBQ in the grounds of Combermere Abbey the night before the wedding to get to know everyone and see the amazing venue as the sun set over the beautiful grounds. Not much comes between me and food so I was there like a shot. The following morning I was capturing a true family experience as Donna’s sister smashed the makeup for all the bridal party. Any nerves Donna had were kept quiet as the girls laughed, cried and had a wonderful morning.
The ceremony & the speeches both brought big smiles and tears of joy and then the reception was a true party, with a full dance floor all night.
A massive thank you to Chris Bunce for second shooting for me on the day and for Chris & Donna for having me share such a amazing day at Combermere Abbey. You guys know how to throw a good wedding 🙂
